She has actively participated with the 21st Century Project for Downingtown Area School District, and was a 2011 leadership speaker for the GETT Program, Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology. She started a local business networking group, G3, which stands for Give, Gain & Grow, a networking group with a social conscience. Susan developed strong alliances within the business community through extensive involvement working with the Business Education Partnership at the Exton Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Committee at the Chester County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Council of the American Red Cross and the STEM Advisory Board. The mission of Gateway STEM Academy is to be a K-8 Charter school that prepares a diverse community of students for academic success by providing an enriching and focused learning environment in science, technology, engineering and math. Her twenty years of business development experience, ten of which have been in Chester County, include a financial services firm, architectural firm, and a major manufacturer. Susan Boardman is the Internships and Partnerships Leader at the Downingtown STEM Academy. She earned her Principal Certification from Drexel University in 2015. Cole secured a Social Studies teaching position with the Springfield School District in Delaware County, PA, serving as a high school educator and Department Manager for nine years before moving into the Dean of Students role at E.T. She has since become a Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project Fellow & Teacher Consultant. Cole to attend West Chester University where, in 2006, she earned her M.Ed. She expanded her undergraduate experience by studying Spanish language and history at Universidad Internacional in Cuernavaca, Mexico.Īcknowledging her desire to work in the field of education prompted Ms. in History/Pre-Law with a Spanish minor in 2003. Cole attended Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA as a scholar athlete earning her B.A. After graduating from Great Valley High School, Ms. Her diverse teaching and learning experiences span across the state of Pennsylvania, but her roots grow from Chester County. Cole is driven by a passion for student success and seeks to engage stakeholders in thoughtful communication, advocacy, and establish partnerships which bolster the STEM Academy's collaborative vision.
